Well I go to the mountains And I go to the sea I go to the mountains with the thought of you and me And I go rain or shine Doesn't matter place or time and I go to the mountains where I shine And I go for the lows and I head for the highs Life took a turn and now I hide from my disguise Rich with love to exhaust I found me at my own cost And I go to the mountains never lost And the sea shines brightly from the views all up above And the girl that stole my heart she's given up but I showed her love And although times can get tough Ya got to help me understand Just what it means when she says I'm not a man Well I go to the mountains And I go to the sea I go to the gardens where the flowers love to be And I travel through the plains through the rivers and the rains But the mountains are the land that keeps me sane Ah take it away Nate And well the sea shines brightly from the views all up above And the girl that stole my heart she's given up but I showed her love And although times can get tough Ya got to help me understand Just what it means when she says I'm not a man So I know where to go So don't tell me I don't know If ya tell me it ain't so Then I'll go back with the buffalo Don't you show me the way Cause I'll always be okay Please remember that I'll always be okay

Henry 02:54
Summertime's a lonely time When Henry runs out to play Taking years of all of his life To search and find a whole new way He gets lost and can't go back Daddy skipped this week's AA If he comes home He'll beat him to death And bludgeon him with a bottle of whiskey And every night as Henry's done Thinking about the future and all of the fun He's skid-ala bopping South far from home to the sun Cause his mother's a whore and his daddy's a drunk He runs away He runs away He runs away He runs away Ah he's running away He runs away Ah let him run He runs away He gets South with bullets to spare He's shooting game to stay alive He reached a road and sees a car And thinks man I always wanted to drive He pulls the gun out on the car He cocks it back and take it too far He feels a rush like never before And pulls an older lady out and drags her right out the door So then he swore Called her a whore He pulled the trigger on her core and then she fell to the floor She's screaming for help Down on her knees Hears the cops in pursuit and grabs a hold of the keys He drives away He's driving away He drives away Got to get him now He drives away He drives away He's driving away He drives away Ah where'd he go He drives away So Henry He's thinking about the future And now he's a commuter Driving out his dreams And Henry He's thinking about the future But now became a shooter He's got to scheme away From the cops Never can stop Put the pedal to the medal but the back tire popped The cops shot Ready or not He lost control of the car they hit him right on the dot They said Hands up You're fucking bizarre Get your hands on the hood of the car And so he disobeyed again and grabbed the glock from the door And then he dibble dabbled away jumping down a waterfall He got away He got away He got away He got away Ah let him go He got away Ah let him live He was feeling so free and so lifted inside No more reason to run no more reason to hide He got away safe and sound lived a happily life A murderous soul that would never comply

Say what ya mean well what ya say Do what ya did in yesterday Lay down your mask get off the stage Your acting was shit so anyway Well I turn on my gears to countryside And I head on the hills I'm justified And I follow my guide who's deep inside I'll be one with the tides until I arrive So I breathe in the light give up the fight I'm a man of the sea man of the night And ya take what ya get take what ya see Cause tomorrow I'll be in the land the land of the free Take on the challenge of the day Carve out your life and find a way Counting the stars up high in space See their reflection in your face Well I turn on my gears to countryside And I head on the hills I'm justified And I follow my guide who's deep inside I'll be one with the tides until I arrive So I breathe in the light give up the fight I'm a man of the sea man of the night And ya take what ya get take what ya see Cause tomorrow I'll be in the land the land of the free Some people say That love will find a way Can you dream if heaven's gone Or find love in the great beyond

Just sent a messenger To tell you what to do He didn't even realize He had no message But something new And just on his journey He'd travel fields of drops and dew He keeps on asking what the message is But in the rain it'll come to you Sittin' in the Rain Sittin' in the Rain Ya wash away the pain Sittin' in the Rain The gods are always fighting On your shoulders of night and day You could be overthinking That your path could be the way And up on the mountains so far away from all of here Is where you see all the Earth from the sky And that your message is always near But your sittin' in the rain Oh your sittin' in the rain Sittin' in the rain Ya wash away the pain So get up off your knees Rise up to the trees All this water falls It can be so serene Sittin' in the rain Water flows your pain Drops can touch your soul Even call your name Sittin in the Rain Rise up to the trees All this water falls It can be so serene Sittin' in the rain Water flows your pain Drops can touch your soul Even call your name All the rivers are one with the sea So come together as ya better believe in the breeze So all together we sway in the sun So as we dance into the dream we will dance as the one Dance as the one together Dance for the night Dance as the one together Dance towards the light

Smoke it's in the trees I hope they'll never see My sorrow Which I'll burn to believe Toasty empty seats With ghosts whom dance free They follow in a night of fantasy Wasting my time in your eyes Cannot forget what's inside All of this time we were alive It was darkness that sings us to light Lost it always seems I hope it's just a dream 'Cause I'm falling in and out of reality Bring me back to Earth The land the sense of worth 'Cause tomorrow we return to new rebirth Wasting my time in your eyes Cannot forget what's inside All of this time we were alive It was darkness that sings us to light Wasting my time in your eyes Cannot forget what's inside All of this time we were alive It was darkness that sings us to light Portal's through the fire The ghosts we must inspire To head back to the world of all desire

C. Shooter 04:09
C. Shooter That was his name Living off the grid now Sort of insane Not his fault Living is strange When things don't go to plan Who is to blame C. Shooter living alone C. Shooter Little is known Bed is made of straw Calls it his home Everybody tells him always get in the zone But he doesn't know how So he leaves it alone C. Shooter leaves it alone Heading down to shore He's smoking a cig Head's up his ass But he's wearing his wig Lady shouts Move it you pig Shooter tells his pet Go fetch an old fig So he arrives with bright orange hair Wearing old clothes And no one will stare Anybody notice Anyone care About the man feeling purple thinking life isn't fair See I know Shooter's lost in his story alone But all he needs is a little love with a pocket of gold He best move quick before the daylight turns to cold He'll be running away Running away running away running away Verse two Same as the first but new And anytime he's down he's thinking life's a zoo Full of people tall and low like me and you Quick to judge first glance if you got no crew He thinks it's wrong with all intent That a man working hard Can't even pay rent He looks at the world like it's one big dent And we're all falling down Like it's bent to dissent C. Shooter questions the world C. Shooter Free of no girl He's only got his pet and they travel the world Friends are scarce But had some in Paris But never can get over cause life isn't the fairest C. Shooter stuck in his own C. Shooter He's looking for life He's looking for a reason to get out of the strife He's struggling hard eating food with a knife And he doesn't even know if he will make it through night C. Shooter mumbles and moans Tumbling down in his spiral alone No one will notice no one will care About the way C. Shooter exists over there See I know Shooter's lost in his story alone But all he needs is a little love with a pocket of gold He best move quick before the daylight turns to cold He'll be running away Running away running away running away I said so he's dim Let the sun shine brightly on him He knows that the moon will rise on him again Open let the love gleam out and let him live I know he belongs Dear Shooter The last verse is here I wanted to be clear that all my words are sincere I understand you're living in fear But there's no doubt in my mind that you can make another year So matter fact Take my hand Forget about the past And just know that you can You did the good deeds And you lived a good man And that's all that really matters To be infinite and grand I said so he's dim Let the sun shine brightly on him He knows that the moon will rise on him again Open let the love gleam out and let him live I know he belongs He belongs oh I know He belongs he belongs oh I know That he will make it I know And he will make it I know

The Shack 02:36
Living in the shack down town Got nowhere to be Just hit on the little old lassy Who wants noting to do with me Just me and my dog and my greedy old cat We ain't make a dime in the hat So c'mon down where the bees don't bite And we'll sing until the sun goes back Me and you from the dawn to the day Living free but never get paid And the fun's begun when my water don't run So shit I'll never get laid That Uncle Sam is such a sham Trying to take all my goddamn land So we'll sit on the steps just holding our ground Playing jams with the booger blues band Me and you from the dawn to the day Living free but never get paid And the fun's begun when my water don't run So shit I'll never get laid That Uncle Sam is such a sham Trying to take all my goddamn land So we'll sit on the steps just holding our ground Playing jams with the booger blues band

Where did you go What do I know Somebody's calling my name Down by the bay Where wishes came to stay Bring me around I'm lonely but I'm found This body's withered but sane Growing with my age Listening to the sage I'm fabled with the mage My journey's towards the dawn Been destined since a fawn Oh holy mystic inside Surface for the pride Lead me to your ways The calling's in the phase

Look Is the river what you are Or the leaves in waterfalls Or just one with it all Come Where the river always flows It will carry through the cove All this mist from the grove See What the forest did to me It has sprouted harmony Dare I see In the forest melody It has sprouted harmony Dare I be Smell All the smoky wooden wells To all the wishes that we've held By those of use who've bid farewell See What the forest did to me It has sprouted harmony Dare I see In the forest melody It has sprouted harmony Dare I be Taste All the silky fog that grows Blanketing the hills I rode We are one with the grove

Something in my life feels kind of wrong The mushrooms in my mind outweigh the song And the heat is of the day And my dreams are here to stay And the rocks of Western Ridge will show the way Oh and it goes I'm in the forests of the Ice Age from a long time ago On antiquity of sunshine in the meadows of grassy knolls I hear the birds the bees the trees saying time will tell the way But will you listen to the mysteries of today

Heading for the highway Listening to the soul Drifting towards the sunshine Ending that control Plotting for the freedom That many wish to own Praying all this passion Will send me to my home So all the years under sun time and time and again Man I've battled with the flow in me It's been a hard and back and forth I'm trying to face all my fears But it's just that time to follow destiny I said ahh it's on With all that action all that fear is gone I've had to deal with all the bitch of explaining my itch And all I'm hearing is my soul want to scream Let me go home Fear's on the phone with me Fear's on the phone with me I just want to hang it up and cut the chord on the shit But I just can't stay away Let me go home Let me go home Let me go home Fear then falls away Fear then falls away Fear then falls away Fear then falls away Ascending towards the sunlight Dancing in my dreams All is now upon us Taking what may seem Taking what may seem Taking what may seem

Life it goes so very fast What'd you do to make things last Did you live now Or were you in the past Were you sad Did you love Did you laugh These are things I've been told by the many all around The same many who once smiled The same many whom I've seen frown But it's a mystery with my history I'll never understand Better keep what I have now while I can 'Cause we go on this journey through thick and through thin We're all in this together whether we lose or we win And even though it's love that stays with us until the end It's fun to live life not knowing it's pretend

about

World of Desire is the product of 5+ years of writing, recording, growing, learning, & playing. The 23-song album is a travelling jamboree of world-building, story-telling, & psychedelic venturing through the times of the tunes. Most notably emanating mountainous music, the album ranges from folklore rock, to country-garage punk, to alternative Appalachian themed lo-fi banjo hip-hop & beyond. The self-produced collection of songs has Matt reflecting his own desire to express stories of freedom, journey, and adventure. He owes a lot of the album's esteem to the nature and the natural environment around him that helped shape many of the songs on this album. Some of which are named after real places he's spent time reflecting in. (Tri-Mountain Field, Boulder Knoll, Mill Brooks.)

A few songs are meant to just feel raw, others more produced. It's really about merging the higher realms and bringing them to Earth. Hopefully you can ultimately connect with that -- to get the feeling that there is something more -- something beyond the physical -- which exists and may or may not always be calling your name. "We go on this journey (life) through thick and through thin, we're all in this together, whether we lose or we win, and even though it's love that stays with us 'til the end, it's fun to live life not knowing it's pretend" - The Life Shanty.

Many of these songs would not be possible if it wasn't for the additional musical counterparts I had featured on some songs. Goes without saying thank you to all involved; Nate Kristan, Victoria Atkin-Dahm, Ken Greiter, Will Atkin, Andy Byrd, David Woronoff. And the album artwork by Aaron Lawrance
